Waiting for the sun

Last weekend I did two things a photograph can do in a cold northern winter without sun.

First and the most important - I made my first darkroom picture! (The printing was so exciting that I almost missed the dinner my boyfriend and me were giving that night - luckily he did all the cooking so that our guest didn't have to starve just because I had forgotten the whole wide world.)

Second - I experimented with artificial light in a self-made studio and learned a bit more about lights and shadows. For the first time since longer period I photographed subjects that do not move and scenes that do not change. (The good thing is that you can eat some of your objects after you've done with the shooting.) But I soon started to miss the unpredictable moments and the joy of communication you have in the streets. So now I am really waiting for the sun!
